COURAGE CANADA
My family and I started the COURAGE CANADA TRAIL RIDE to support Brain Injury Awareness in 2004. The trail ride was started to bring awareness to Brain Injury. Another reason it was started, was to give survivors a chance to be around the horses and to visit with other survivors. The proceeds from the trail ride supports the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury in Ponoka. Some of the money helps families with travel costs to see their family and purchase therapy equipment.
We support L.A.B.I.S (Lloydminster and Area Brain Injury Society), FOCUS in Vermilion, and VALID in Vegreville. We also support the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team.
The Courage Canada Trail Ride is the last Saturday in May every year.
Everyone brings a bag lunch and water for dinner. There is a supper, silent and live auction, cowboy poetry, fiddling and music at the Innisfree Recreation Centre after the ride. The ride is held in the Minburn-Innisfree area every year now.
I would like to THANK all of the great sponsors of our Trail Ride including:
CHEMCO
TPSR- Doug Anderson
COMMAND ENERGY
HALLMARK TUBULARS
SWEDE'S WILD HORSE CONSULTING- Derek Anderson
