I have been busy doing Oilfield and Farm Safety Presentations in 2013. I still continue to do motivational presentations on helmet safety to rodeo competitors, specifically bull riders. I am also looking at doing school safety programs for kids regarding helmet safety for bike riding. This year continues to get busier and I enjoy speaking to all the people about being safe in their daily walk in life.
Some of my highlights from past years...
I was so honored to win the "Rising Star Runner-up Title" for the poetry competition at the Kamloops Cowboy Poetry Festival in Kamloops, BC.
I am excited to announce that I was interviewed by Hugh McLennan, of "Spirit of the West" radio program and my interview was on his show in early spring 2011! He is was the Master of Ceremonies for Courage Canada 2011! For more info on this years TRAIL RIDE please go to the COURAGE CANADA page.
I spoke at many schools these past years on the topic of Acquired Brain Injury thru my speech called "Road To Recovery".
I attend and compete in Cowboy Poetry competitions, one of them is at Kamloops, BC. I was excited to have the opportunity to compete for the "Rising Star Award". I love writing my poems and I hope you really enjoy listening to them or reading them!
I competed in the cowboy poetry gathering at Pincher Creek and attended an open mike session at the Ponoka Cowboy Poetry gathering- just prior to the Ponoka Stampede.
Of other interests, I attended/spoke at the Rod Hayes Bronc Riding event, Lea Park Rodeo, and other rodeo events including the CFR. I spoke at a Provincial 4-H event at Barrhead and well as other 4-H functions.
I have been interviewed by radio personalities for several radio stations in Alberta and various magazines. It's great to be able to spread the word about my cause!
I am in the process of writing my book, it is getting close to being published!
